Swim Goggles

Swim goggles are a kind of eyewear that helps to protect your eyes from water while you are swimming. They can be used if you are surface swimming or if you are going underwater and want to be able to see clearly (it is possible to see a little underwater without goggles, although this may irritate the eyes because of impurities in the water and it is generally very blurry). More swim goggles are very inexpensive, made out of clear plastic with a colored plastic border. There are also specific types of swim goggles such as racing swim goggles made to decrease the amount of water resistance that one is subjected to while moving through the water, and optical swim goggles - prescription swim goggles can make it possible to see very clearly in the water with a lens that is designed to your vision specifications. Positive pressure swim goggles are another type of swim goggles that are used in high pressure situations when diving deep underwater, and shark swim goggles / barracuda swim goggles are designed specifically for situations in which you are swimming with sharks, for example feeding them or filming them from a shark cage.

You can get swim goggles attached to other pieces of swimming or diving equipment; for example as part of a swim goggles cap. There are also many varieties of kids swim goggles and even baby swim goggles which are usually just inexpensive plastic wholesale swim goggles that you can buy for a couple bucks or less at any convenience store or at a swimming store near the beach or pool. There are also specific brands of generic goggles that you may find have particularly good design for you such as Speedo swim goggles and Nike swim goggles.

How to clean swim goggles: swim goggles fog occurs as a result of temperature differences between the air on the inside of the goggles and the water that is outside. When the water is significantly colder than the air on the inside of the goggles and there is moisture hanging in the air, condensation may quickly form on the interior of your goggles causing them to "fog up". The easiest way to clean swim goggles is simply to get to the surface, take off your goggles, splash some of the water around in them so that the fog condensation is washed away and the internal temperature of the glass or plastic is equalized, and quickly put the goggles back on.
